Hi Z, yeah it's a plant. It has these really super soft leaves - like fur. It's part of a species of plants known as woundwort, because it was used in herbal medicine to treat wounds. Check it out on wikipedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woundwort. I bought some for our garden one year, and it looked beautiful to start, but it grows kind of scraggly after a while. :)
